Honesty

HONESTY

The poet Edgar A Guest wrote some sobering words we should think about. “I have to live with myself, and so I want to be fit for myself to know. I want to be able as days go by always to look myself straight in the eye; I don't want to stand with the setting sun and hate myself for things I have done”.

“I don't want to keep on a closet shelf a lot of secrets about myself, and fool myself as I come and go, into thinking that nobody else will know the kind of person I really am; I don't want to dress up myself in sham.”

Before I can change what is wrong in me I must be HONEST.  I must be willing to admit that something is wrong.  After admitting that something is wrong, I must be willing to let go of what is wrong in me which is displeasing God.

Jeremiah 23:24, "Can any hide himself in secret places and I not see him? saith the Lord...”

God sees what is in our hearts and he will cleanse our hearts if we confess our wrong doings to him.

I John 2:1 "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.  And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."

Confess what is wrong, and you will be able to stand before god and live in peace with God and yourself.
